Prosthetic Legs give elephants a second chance to live
Prosthetic Legs give elephants a second chance to live. Mosha is the most famous animal to receive a fake limb from the ingenious Therdchai Jivacate, a compassionate Thai surgeon.
A dream of our Sri Lanka field crew is to fund an elephant transport, complete with a heavy lift crane that can lift elephants onto a lorry for transport to the elephant hospital. Too often, we have witnessed mortal wounds inflicted by trap guns. The elephants are merely given sedatives and painkillers as they await death. Sure, it would consume huge resources to save the lives of these sentient Beings, but we can't stand aside and do nothing. Compassionate people will expend the resources, and so would we. There are many veterinarians in training that would relish the opportunity to save an elephant's life....a critically endangered species! We just need the funds to do so.
If you or anyone you know have the funds to donate to an elephant rescue vehicle, please DM us!
Here is a video we produced about such a horrendous trap gun victim. It's not for the faint of heart. We were and are heartbroken. https://www.facebook.com/501402253315190/videos/468202563818951
