Since 2012, SavingGanesh.org has been on the ground protecting Asia’s elephants — guided by compassion, science, and direct action. Our commitment began decades earlier, when our founder assisted CameraQ of Sweden in the creation of the groundbreaking 1998 film Elephants of Paradise — raising global awareness long before elephant welfare became a mainstream issue.

We registered SavingGanesh.org as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2014, and our mission has been driven by grassroots heart and hands-on activism ever since.

For years, we funded our conservation work through community engagement — selling t-shirts at yoga festivals and leading ethical conservation safaris in Sri Lanka and India. But since COVID, those funding sources have nearly vanished. The festival circuit no longer exists, and our beloved I Love Elephants camp at Burning Man operates under non-commercial principles, meaning fundraising there is not possible.

Yet our impact continues to grow.

Today, SavingGanesh is recognized as one of the most influential global voices for Asian elephants, ranking:

• #2 globally in wild Asian elephant conservation advocacy

Our posts routinely reach 1–5 million people — often outperforming mainstream urban news outlets.

We have driven international awareness and action on critical issues, including:

• Reviving and protecting the Great Elephant Gathering of Asia

• Securing wildlife corridors in Sri Lanka

• Addressing invasive species threats inside national parks

• Exposing systemic abuse at the Pinnawala Elephant Park

• Advising elephant facilities on transitioning to ethical, cruelty-free tourism models
