Elephant conservation efforts in Kaziranga National Park receive boost: The park's elephant population has increased by 10% in the past year, thanks in part to a number of conservation initiatives.

Rescued elephant calf finds new home at Dudhwa National Park: A three-month-old elephant calf that was orphaned in Assam has been relocated to Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh.

Elephant festival held in Kerala: The annual Thrissur Pooram elephant festival was held in Kerala, featuring a parade of over 100 in-prisoned elephants.

Elephant poaching on the rise in Karnataka: Forest officials in Karnataka are concerned about an increase in elephant poaching in the state.

New elephant corridor created in Tamil Nadu: A new elephant corridor has been created in Tamil Nadu to connect two fragmented elephant habitats.

Injured elephant calf rescued in Assam: A six-month-old elephant calf that was injured in a fall has been rescued by forest officials in Assam.

In addition, there were a number of other elephant events in India over the past two months.

The Wildlife Institute of India held a workshop on elephant conservation.

The World Elephant Day was celebrated on October 12th.
