Introduction

Help make elephant conservation a dependable livelihood for the people living alongside it. Saving Ganesh seeks founding support to turn two mapped habitat routes into a practical, community-supported restoration program.

The opportunity

Our team has documented habitat disturbance through ground surveys and drone footage. We propose paying participating residents to keep agreed areas available for elephants and employing local people to help restore and maintain them. The immediate opportunity is to support feasibility and pilot preparation.

What early funding would support

Route and parcel verification; land-rights assessment; household consultation; ecological and elephant-health baselines; specialist review; and a pilot design priced with local quotations. This work will establish what can be restored, who can participate and what continuing support will cost.

A staged funding ambition

The preliminary establishment estimate is US$5 million for two routes. An illustrative US$300,000 allocation within that total is proposed for feasibility and pilot preparation. The actual first grant would be agreed from a scoped work plan and quotations. Recurring costs are provisionally estimated at US$100,000 per year and remain to be fully costed.

Potential benefits

The founder’s preliminary estimate is that roughly 200 elephants could benefit, together with future offspring. This number requires verification. The program aims to improve habitat access and community livelihoods; it does not guarantee the survival of individual elephants or a particular calf-survival outcome.

An invitation to founding benefactors

We invite foundations, philanthropists and conservation-minded supporters to discuss a founding grant. We can share the existing maps and field footage, explain the proposed stages, and develop a funding agreement with defined deliverables, reporting and independent review. Larger commitments would follow demonstrated feasibility and an approved pilot.

Accountability to supporters

The proposed reporting framework includes quarterly activity and spending updates, annual financial reporting, and independent review proportionate to the grant. Ecological and household results would be reported with methods and limitations. Grant terms would specify how design changes and unused funds are handled.
